Derek Higginbotham focuses on helping banks bring innovative and transformational new financial services products to market and fintechs prepare to meet the demands of regulated, large-scale markets.

 

Derek joined Klaros from First Electronic Bank in Salt Lake City, where he served as CEO and president; the bank grew from a $40 million bank to $420 million in his five years of leadership, offering dozens of lending products through bank-fintech joint ventures. Prior to that he served as general counsel at an early stage fintech platform, Applied Data Finance, advising the board of directors and management on legal matters regarding capital markets and financing, strategic partnerships and new initiatives, corporate governance, licensing, contract negotiation, and other regulatory and operational topics. Before that, he held law firm and in-house legal roles in various transactional areas, including structured finance, M&A, and securities.

Derek serves on the board of trustees for Utah Youth Village. He holds a BA and JD from Brigham Young University.
