Catherine Brown | Senior Advisor
Catherine Brown specializes in enterprise & compliance risk management, examination readiness & remediation.
Catherine is a seasoned compliance and ethics professional, specializing in regulatory risk management and consumer compliance in the financial services industry. Catherine advises large, complex financial institutions on regulatory requirements and trends in all aspects of consumer compliance, corporate conduct/ethics and anti-money laundering/ financial crimes, and focuses much of her practice on preparation for and response to regulatory examination. Prior to joining Klaros, Catherine was a founding partner of Treliant Risk Advisors, where she co-led the regulatory compliance practice. Catherine previously consulted in the Financial Institutions Risk Management practice of Crowe Horwath, LLP where she provided significant thought leadership and advisory support in matters pertaining to consumer compliance, AML, and Enterprise Risk Management. Catherine is also an experienced operating executive, having held senior management positions at Citizens Financial Group, and its predecessor bank, Charter One Bank, N.A. During her tenure, she chaired and participated in various corporate governance committees related to major consumer and enterprise risk management issues, and served as Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Compliance and Ethics Officer. Catherine has written and spoken extensively at the national level on various matters related to financial services risk management.
Catherine received her JD from the University of Dayton School of Law, an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, and studied International Law at Cambridge University in England. Catherine is also an instructor at the American Bankers Association’s Compliance School.
