Andreas Westgaard focuses on banking and fintech regulatory strategy, risk governance, and BSA/AML.

 

Andreas joined Klaros from Promontory Financial Group, where he advised financial services and fintech clients on strategic, regulatory compliance, and risk management matters. In that role, he worked with a number of fintech and cryptocurrency clients on charter and license applications at the federal and state levels. Andreas also worked with several large and mid-sized banks to design and implement enhanced enterprise risk management programs. Before joining Promontory, Andreas worked at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors on regulatory issues in retail payments, including faster payments, mobile and card payments, and cryptocurrencies. He also previously worked at The Pew Charitable Trusts, a think tank in Washington, D.C., conducting research on federal and state fiscal health for policymakers and the press.

 

Andreas received his MPP in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a BA and MA in Political Science from Boston University.
